- What is Making A Difference - Locally?
The Making A Difference - Locally charity is a joint initiative between
Nisa-Today’s and Costcutter, developed to provide charitable donations to good causes in its members local areas.
- How does the retailer select which charity or good cause they donate to?
The retailer has the freedom to donate to any charity or good cause in their local area, whether it be donating money to a national charity or a small sports club which is in need of new equipment, it is entirely up to the retailer.
- How do you know if the charity is legitimate?
The Making A Difference Committee is responsible for ensuring that each time the retailer makes a donation it is going to a legitimate cause.
- How is the money given to the charity?
The Committee is in charge of writing the cheques. The cheques are then sent on to the retailer who will present them to the charity or good cause of their choice. The retailer may also choose to have a fun day to celebrate the fact that they have given money to the worthwhile cause. This, however, is up to the retailer.
- Will we ever find out where the money is going and how it is being used?
We will advise the retailer to communicate information to its customers of all donations that they make.
- How do we know which products are giving money to the Making A Difference charity?
The products that contribute to Making A Difference will be branded with the Making A Difference - Locally logo - this will make it easier for the customers to identify which products will be helping to raise money for local charities or good causees.
- Can we suggest different charities, within our community that we feel should be given a donation?
Suggestions are always welcome. If you speak with the retailer and express your ideas it is possible that they may decide to choose the charity or good cause that you want to receive a donation. You are strongly encouraged to make suggestions to your local participating retailer. This charity is designed to help the community – your community.
- How much money will be given to charity?
This depends on a number of factors. Firstly, on the volume of products sold from suppliers committed to Making A Difference - Locally, the more promoted products that sell the more money will be donated to the charities. Secondly, the retailer can save the money raised and give a charity or good cause a large sum of money, or they can distribute smaller amounts more frequently to the charities or good causes.
