Nisa-Today’s member Dike & Son has been a keen supporter of the new Making A Difference- Locally initiative and has been quick to decorate its store to help promote the scheme.
Dike & Son has made use of the point-of-sale (POS) kits which are an essential way for the 16,500sq ft. store in Stalbridge in Dorset, to help communicate to customers the principles of the initiative. It is also proactively planning to produce leaflets and posters promoting the charity that it is donating to. At the forefront of its store Dike & Son has created a wall chart to let its customers know how much the store has raised for Making A Difference-Locally, and show who will benefit from the scheme.
Even though Making A Difference-Locally is still in its early stages, Dike & Son has already selected its chosen charity to donate to - Julia’s House. This is a small charity in Dorset, which is dedicated to helping children with life-limiting conditions and provides support to the families of children with these illnesses. Dike & Son has planned to use its stores media systems to show images of the charity and display information about the objectives of the charity
The store has plans in place to ensure that it does not lose focus after the initial stages of the scheme. Throughout the summer months it is planning to dedicate shelving space to put all of the Making A Difference- Locally branded products at the forefront of the store, which will help to show customers which brands will help to generate more money for the charity.
Adam Vincent, store manager of Dike & Son in Stalbridge, Dorset comments: “We are really excited to raise money for our chosen charity, Julia’s House. The charity has helped over 7,500 children and families last year and funded over 60 nurses within the area. As this is a non-government funded charity, we are really trying to raise as much money as we can for this worthwhile cause. We have held internal meetings with staff about Making A Difference - Locally, which is essential if you want your staff to communicate the initiative to your customers! We are really excited about the new scheme and can’t wait to see how much we raise over the next few months.”
