The Mills Group Donates Money to The National Youth Theatre

11/08/2010

The Mills Group has donated £200 to the National Youth Theatre, which will go towards charitable activities such as its bursary scheme which could help support a young person attend a National Youth Theatre acting course.

The Mills Group has been raising money for its local community through the sale of specific products in store and has been able to donate the money raised with the help of the charity Making A Difference – Locally (MADL). The MADL charity was formed in May 2008 with the intention of assisting more than 2,000 independent retailers throughout the UK with raising money for their local communities. The charity works by a specified amount of the cost of certain products promoted instore being allocated to the retailer’s MADL charity fund. For instance, this month for every box of Weetabix Minis Fruit & Nut purchased in store, 5p of the sale will go into the retailer’s MADL fund to be donated to their chosen charity.

The charity was created by Nisa-Today’s and Costcutter Supermarkets and the stores participating in the scheme are all members of Nisa-Today’s or independent retailers who are part of the Costcutter Supermarkets Group.

Nigel Mills, managing director, commented: “We are extremely pleased to be able to donate this money to the National Youth Theatre as attending their acting course can provide great experience. It means a great deal that this donation could help someone establish their acting dream. The MADL charity is fantastic and we look forward to making many more donations in the future.”
