Published on 09 October 2017

Scarborough retailer The Proudfoot Group is supporting a local restoration project this month with a donation of £500 to St. Mark’s Church in Newby.

Proudfoot is donating the funds to help towards the costs of replacing the roof and rewiring the church to benefit the local community for decades to come. St. Mark’s Church are trying to raise just over £100,000 for the vital repair work to be undertaken through numerous fundraising activities and grants.

The Vicar of St Mark’s Church, Revd. Mike Leigh, said: “We are extremely grateful to Nisa and the Proudfoot Group for supporting our efforts with this donation.

“We like to think that we have good relationships with local businesses and this goes to show that we do.

“Our roof appeal has been very successful over the past 12 months and we hope to complete the work early next year”.

Since the formation of Making a Difference Locally in 2008, Proudfoot have donated just under £40,000 to over 100 local causes through the charity, ranging from local schools, sports clubs and community groups to charities, hospices and churches.
