Proudly supporting even more local causes!

Published on 16 June 2016

Scarborough-based independent retailer The Proudfoot Group supported two local causes this month with donations through Making a Difference Locally. The independent retail group donated £250 to St Augustine’s School and a further £250 to Barrowcliff Juniors Football Club.

The cheque to St Augustine’s School was presented to pupils during their rehearsal for their summer production of Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, with the donation to be used towards the students’ costumes.

Valerie Aston, buying and distribution controller for the Proudfoot Group commented: “I visited St. Augustine’s School and interrupted the pupils’ rehearsal to present them with a Making a Difference Locally cheque for £250. This should be an excellent production based on the enthusiasm I saw from the pupils!”

Barrowcliff Juniors run football teams and free multi-sports sessions for children aged from 4-12 within the local community. Their aim is to make all sports accessible to any child, regardless of ability, providing the opportunity to develop, learn and mix with people outside their peer groups in a safe and secure environment. The donation from the Proudfoot Group will be used towards new sports equipment for the club.

Samantha Harriman, Club Secretary for Barrowcliff Juniors FC, commented: “The money we receive from Making a Difference Locally will go towards providing new equipment, which will enable us to offer a wide range of sports to a greater number of kids within the local area.

“We are extremely grateful to both Making a Difference Locally and to the Proudfoot Group - this money will have a massive impact on the club. This donation will relieve some of the financial strain and enable us to focus more time on running sports sessions for the youngsters. Everyone at Barrowcliff Juniors is over the moon!”

The Proudfoot Group donated a total of £4,800 to good causes in 2015 alone through Making a Difference Locally. To support the work of Making a Difference Locally and help good causes in your area, look out for Heritage products and Making a Difference Locally promotions in your local store.
