Richmond convenience store Makes a Difference for family support charity

Published on 21 April 2016

Last week a Richmond convenience store supported a family support charity with a donation of £1,000. The Nisa Local on Victoria Road, Richmond made the donation to Home-Start Richmondshire through Making a Difference Locally to help fund the services offered by the charity.

Home-Start Richmondshire helps families in need of a little extra support, with home-visiting volunteers who offer advice, friendship, practical help and emotional support. The donation from the Nisa Local will be used to fund training for volunteers for Home-Start Richmond to help and support parents with young families in the local area.

The Nisa Local store is run by local family owned car dealership SG Petch who have successfully diversified into convenience retailing following the addition of the Nisa Local to the Victoria Road site’s petrol station in 2013.

Store manager Jon Cowen commented: “It is a pleasure to support such a worthy cause with this donation which will go towards supporting local families. The aim of Making a Difference Locally is to build stronger local communities and we hope the donation will go some way towards achieving this.”

Earlier this month the Nisa Local was presented with the award for ‘Nisa Symbol Store of the Year (under 1,500 sq. ft.)’ at Nisa’s annual retail exhibition and gala dinner, acknowledged for its excellent retail standards and dedication to customer service.
