Nisa staff donate to twenty charities

Published on 06 July 2014

Twenty local charities and good causes across the length and breadth of the country benefitted from Nisa Retail head office staff donating £10,000.

Through Nisa’s charity, Making A Difference Locally (MADL), staff at the Scunthorpe office donated to a variety of causes such as sports clubs, schools, hospices and charities.

Nisa head office regularly donates to charity, with a total of £500,000 given every year. MADL brand manager Kate Carroll said she is delighted to be able to support “local and small” charities and good causes which rely on public donations the most.

Kate added: “Making A Difference Locally is true by its name. The charity really does make a difference to the local community by supporting fantastic causes. Retailers need to gain full support from their customers in order to make even more money for charity!”

One of the charities which benefitted was Hull and East Yorkshire Sands which provides help and support for bereaved parents and families who have suffered the death of a baby. Eszter Pontone, Hull and East Yorkshire treasurer, said: “On behalf of Hull Sands we would like to thank Nisa for its generous support- it is thanks to donations like this that we can continue to exist.

“Our charity is funded entirely through donations and therefore each one of them makes a huge difference, enabling us to continue supporting local bereaved families as well as working with local professionals to improve the quality of care they provide. All of our staff are volunteers and every pound received is therefore spent on our cause so it really does make a difference locally.”
