Kind-hearted store donates to school

Published on 07 May 2014

The generous Trident Store retailer on Green Street raised the money for Ocklynge Junior School through its membership with Nisa and its Making A Difference Locally charity. The money is raised by the sale of selected products in store which enables retailers to give back to their local community by donating funds to chosen local charities and good causes.

Store owner, Demetrious Photiou, said: “It is vitally important to support our community and help worthy causes or charities that need it most.

“We know that Ocklynge Junior School will put the money towards a fantastic cause which will benefit hundreds of youngsters in our area.”

The money for the school on Victoria Drive, in Eastbourne, has gone towards floodlights for the games area so it can be used in the late afternoon and early evening during winter months.

Headteacher, Mark Trott, said: “We really appreciate the donation and we are aiming to raise £20,000 towards the games area to be used by the school during the day, and local community groups in the evenings and weekends.”
