Making a difference for North Ferriby Primary

Published on 06 November 2015

North Ferriby Primary School has benefitted from the donation of £1,000 with the help of the MADL charity.

Charity Manager Kate Carroll nominated North Ferriby Primary School as the beneficiary of her MADL staff donation, with her daughter Jessica taking in the £300 contribution, which she suggested be used to run a school disco and raise even more money for the school.

The school’s headteacher agreed and proposed that she form a small team and run the idea as an enterprise project. The result was the execution of a disco for over 250 pupils (with a bun stall too!) which raised an impressive total of over £700, taking the total donation to over £1,000.

The donation will contribute towards the purchase of outdoor picnic tables to allow the children to have lunch outside in summer.

The initial donation was raised through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity. A percentage of the sales from Nisa’s own label Heritage range and selected branded products goes into a MADL virtual fund to be donated to local charities and good causes nominated by Nisa employees and members. 5% of this goes into a fund for Nisa employees to make staff donations, to encourage participation with the charity and their local community.
