Pearce’s Service Station helps local football club to score new equipment

Published on 14 August 2017

St Ann’s Chapel Football Club received a donation of £300 from local retailer Pearce’s Service Station recently towards new resources for the club. Pearce’s, based in Gunnislake, made the donation through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity, to help the local club to purchase training equipment and make improvements to their existing facilities.

St Ann’s Chapel Football Club was founded in 2016 in a bid to bring football back to the community of St Ann’s Chapel, and are a non-profit club ran by volunteers from the local community.

Helen Townsend from Pearce’s Service Station commented: “We chose to support St Ann’s Chapel Football Club as they are a fairly new team and as such have limited funds and resources.

“Their aim is to bring a sense of community back to the area and offer a positive activity through football, but still require training equipment, match balls and improvements to their facilities, so we hope that our Making a Difference Locally donation of £300 will help towards their goals.”

Pearce’s Service Station have donated almost £8,000 through Making a Difference Locally to local causes to date, and earlier this year were named MADL Community Champion for their commitment to the community.
