Luton store supports Macmillan Coffee Morning

Published on 19 October 2015

The Nisa Local Molly’s Ltd store in Luton will be sending Macmillan Cancer Support a donation for more than £400 this month. Following a coffee morning held outside the store in St Dominic’s Square, Molly’s will be sending the charity a cheque for £464.

The money was raised through the event as part of Macmillan’s annual “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning”, which was held on the 25th September. Staff from the St Dominic's Square convenience store baked a delicious array of cakes and provided coffee for their customers to raise money for the charity, receiving £232 in donations. Molly’s Ltd has offered to match the donations, so will be donating a total of £464 to Macmillan.

Scott Jell, store manager, said: “I would like to thank all our customers for their support with the Macmillan coffee morning that was held outside our store, we had a great turn out and the morning was a huge success.”

At time of press, the Macmillan Coffee Morning had raised a total of over £9 million for the charity. Macmillan Cancer Support aims to offer support to the 2.5 million people in the UK living with cancer. They provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support to those living with cancer, as well as their friends and family, and also lead the campaign for better cancer care.
