Nisa Local store helps to Make a Difference for the less fortunate at Christmas

Published on 21 December 2015

The Nisa Local store in Basford, Nottingham has supported a community church this month to enable them to provide gifts and a free Christmas meal for vulnerable members of the community this Christmas. The store on Arnold Road donated £200 to the New Generation Church in Basford to contribute towards a free Christmas meal being held at the church, where gift bags and vouchers will also be given to those less fortunate.

The New Generation Church will be holding the meal on the 18th and 19th December for around 200 people, including the homeless, the elderly, the financially challenged and anyone living alone. The church and community centre is actively involved with the community, building relationships and supporting those in need.

The Nisa Local store donated the money to the cause through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity to benefit people in the local community. The charity raises money to be donated to good causes in the local area from the sale of items from Nisa’s own-label Heritage range and a number of branded products in store.

Kully Sandhu from the store said of their donation: “The money will go towards supporting people in our local community, which is what Making a Difference Locally is all about. We are proud to support local causes and are delighted that we were able to support such a worthy cause in our area.”

The cheque donation will be presented to the New Generation Church at the Christmas meal on Friday 18th December.
