Making a Difference Locally smashes previous record figure!

Published on 12 October 2016

Nisa’s charity Making a Difference Locally has beaten its previous record donation figure after donating a fantastic £144,000 to 226 charities and good causes throughout the UK in the last month.

One of the stores to make a donation this month was the Nisa Local on Carlisle Street in Splott which proudly supported Welsh bereavement charity 2 Wish Upon a Star with a donation of £400, to help towards the support services it provides to suddenly bereaved parents.

Rhian Burke, founder of 2 Wish Upon a Star said: “We are very grateful for the kind donation made by the Nisa Local. The funds raised by the charity go towards helping those who are in need of immediate shock and trauma support and to improve the bereavement facilities in local hospitals and Accident and Emergency departments.”

Further to this, two Bells Nisa Local stores, located on Canterbury Road in Habberley and Tennyson Way in Offmore, supported Home-Start Wyre Forest with a total donation of £1,000 to help fund the family support services offered by the charity.

Kate Carroll, charity manager, commented: “It is fantastic to see so many Nisa members engaging with the Making a Difference Locally charity as these donations make such a significant difference to local communities throughout the UK. The charity has donated a fantastic £8 million since it was established over 8 years ago, which is incredibly humbling when you consider the impact those donations will have had on people’s lives in the UK.”
