Football team benefits from store donation

Published on 15 December 2014

The Nisa Local store located in the heart of Great Barr has donated a fantastic £350 towards a local football team.

The independently owned shop on Beacon Road raised the money for Beacon Colts Under 13s through the Nisa charity Making A Difference Locally. The money is raised through shoppers purchasing specific products in store.

Baljit Singh, owner of the store, said: “We believe it is really important to try and make a difference in our community, and the Making A Difference Locally charity is a fantastic way to do so because it’s so simple!

“We chose to donate the money to the football team because not only is it a worthy cause supporting the future youngsters in our community, but they are our regular customers of our store too.”

Dave Allen, coach for Beacon Colts Under 13s, said: “We are overwhelmed with the donation because it will make a real difference with being able to buy new tracksuits for the children as some parents can’t afford them.

“Donations like this are very important to us and without them we wouldn’t be able to run the football team.”
