Kidderminster retailer supports Home-Start with £1,000 donation

Published on 17 October 2016

Two Kidderminster convenience stores are supporting a family support charity with a total donation of £1,000 this month. The two Bells Nisa Local stores, located on Canterbury Road in Habberley and Tennyson Way in Offmore, made the donation to Home-Start Wyre Forest through Making a Difference Locally to help fund the services offered by the charity.

Home-Start helps families in need of a little extra support, particularly those with post-natal depression, isolation, physical health problems and bereavement, with home-visiting volunteers who offer advice, friendship, practical help and emotional support.

Mr Jordha Sanghera, owner of the Bells Nisa Local stores, has the privilege of choosing the recipient of the funds the stores have raised. He commented: “We are delighted to support Home-Start with this donation, which will benefit parents with young children in our local community by delivering informal, friendly and confidential support.

“I hope our customers will continue to support the scheme by buying our special Making a Difference Locally products so that we can continue to give back to our local communities".

Joanne Shinton, Co-ordinator for Home-Start Wyre Forest added: “We would like to say how much we appreciate the donation from the Nisa Local stores’ Making a Difference Locally funds to Home Start Wyre Forest. The donation will enable us to continue to support families in the local community who are experiencing difficulties, and each year we enable parents of approximately 300 children to cope so that they can provide the love and laughter their children need to flourish.”
