Last month a North Cornelly retailer supported a homelessness charity with a donation of £2,000. Megasave superstore on Heol Llan, North Cornelly made the donation to Shelter Cymru through Making a Difference Locally, to contribute towards the vital support services provided through the charity.

Megasave is a family-run business that has been at the heart of the community for 33 years. The store is actively involved with the local community, making regular donations to local causes through Making a Difference Locally from funds raised instore. To date the North Cornelly retailer has donated almost £5,000 to local community groups and other good causes, including Bridgend Foodbank, Touched by Cancer and the Police Community Trust.

Suhail Khaliq, Director of Megasave commented: “The donation came about as part of the Ride to the Rugby challenge, where we would set out from Cardiff Millennium Stadium and cycle to Dublin in Ireland to watch the Six Nations match between Wales and Ireland the following day. My brother and a few of our friends did the ride to Dublin to raise money for Shelter and we are pleased to be able to support the charity through Making a Difference Locally.”
