Local lifeboat crew benefit from Nisa donation

Published on 09 February 2015

A local lifeboat crew cut the ribbon at a fun day and welcomed the public to the newly refurbished Nisa Local in Hastings Old Town.

The convenience store on the High Street made a £500 donation to the Hastings RNLI charity, and there was also have lots of giveaways in store including the chance to win an iPad and free goodie bags.

Retail operations director of the store, Steve Browne, said: “As a retailer it’s important to be at the heart of the community, as well as making a difference in the area, and we will do this by raising money for local charities and good causes through the Making A Difference Locally charity.

“It works by shoppers purchasing specific products in store, a percentage goes into a virtual fund and then with the help of shoppers, we decide what the local donations should go towards.”
