Shepherds Bush store supports local school

Published on 19 October 2015

The Nisa Local store on Uxbridge Road, Shepherds Bush is making a significant donation to a local school this month. The LA Foods store will generously be donating £1000 to St. Stephen’s Church of England Primary School, to allow them to purchase new books for the school library.

The money was raised through Nisa’s Making A Difference Locally charity, from customers purchasing items from the own-label Heritage range and certain branded products in store. A percentage of the sale cost of these items then goes into a virtual fund to be donated to local charities and good causes of the store owners’ choice.

Store owner Ansar Hussain commented: “We take great pride in our stores and wanted to give back to our local community. We chose this school as the parents and kids often visit our store so felt we should give something back to show our appreciation.”

The Uxbridge Road store is part of an independent chain of family run supermarkets in the London and West Midlands areas. The family take great pride in their stores which put significant focus on offering excellent customer service. The store will be presenting the cheque to St. Stephen’s on the 22nd October.

As well as a focused learning programme that looks at children’s individual needs, St Stephen’s primary school operates a diverse after school club programme, educational trips in and around London, and puts on an annual whole school production. The school is committed to fundraising for additional resources to enhance children’s experience at the school, and does so via fundraising and social events throughout the year.
