Another record month for MADL as retailers donate over £150,000 to good causes!

Published on 30 December 2016

Last month was another record month for donations made through Making a Difference Locally, as Nisa retailers made a total of 243 donations to good causes throughout the UK. Throughout November, Nisa members supported almost 200 unique causes including charities, schools, sports clubs and more, totalling a huge £155,841.

One retailer who supported their local community last month was the Nisa Local on Freemasons Road, Canning Town who donated £2,000 to St. Anne’s Church in London, to fund their Christmas party for the elderly and a number of other local community projects.

Some other donations made through the charity last month included a £1,000 donation from the Nisa Local at Market Square, University of York, to York District Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit, a £500 donation from Longford Post Office to Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice, and £1,276 from the Nisa Local on Market Square, Farley Hill to Luton and Dunstable Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Kate Carroll, Making a Difference Locally charity manager, commented: “We are thrilled that so many of our retailers are engaging with their local communities through Making a Difference Locally, especially at this time of year when smaller local causes in particular may be in need of a little extra support.

“We are delighted to have supported UK causes with over £150,000 in donations in the last month alone and hope 2017 will see even more donated through the charity to enable our retailers to continue to truly make a difference to their local communities.”
